This work is a revision of the Octet originally written for Akita Futatsui High School Band, and rewritten for Fujimura Girls' Junior & Senior High School ensemble. I also composed "2e. Ballet Chimerique", which is longer than this with greater instrumentation that can be used by wind bands. The middle of this work has an ad lib solo for clarinet, which can be freely interpreted. "Ballet Chimerique" means "Music for Imaginary Ballet". Perform it creating your own story.
