Commissioned by Yamaha Symphonic Band in 2010. Due to their preference for melodious works, I designed both slow and fast tempo sections to be melodious. The work employs three motifs and the inner voices are not mere accompaniments. They create harmony while functioning as a counter-melody, which makes it more enjoyable to perform. (Rika Ishige)
