In the James Bond film 'Live and Let Die', George Martin makes frequent use of a staccato action motif and introduces a new tension theme. The music in this film is strongly influenced by the sound of New Orleans and Harlem. It is a mix of funk with the typical Bond-tunes, which comes to a very original whole. The music in this film is an original variation in the Bond cycle but still remains in his style.
