5 Universal Chorals

In 5 Universal Chorals composer Johan Nijs has created five beautiful settings for wind band.These can be used in a variety of ways and are well- suited as warm-up or tuning exercises.They would also work beatifully at ommemorative ceremonies. The five chorales are composed by Friedrich Silcher, Franz Schubert, Edward Elgar, Dimitri Bortniansky and Lowell Mason.1. "O take my hand dear father" is a religious and solemn hymn composed by Friedrich Silcher. 2. "Holy Holy Holy" is a chorale composed by Franz Schubert. 3. "Ave Verum Corpus" is a Eucharistic hymn written by Sir Edward Elgar. 4. "Ich bete an die Macht der Liebe" (I pray to the Power of Love) is a wedding chorale written by the versatile Ukrainian choral composer Dimitri Bortniansky.5. "Nearer my God to Thee" is an English Christian hymn that became well-known as part of the soundtrack of the blockbuster film "Titanic."
