Within 1 business dayWith “A Tribute To Genesis,” a long-cherished wish of publisher Koen Vergouwen comes true. Genesis was one of the 1st live concerts he attended at the Festivalpark Werchter (Be) on June 28, 1992. He also attended the farewell concert of “The Last Domino? Tour"! on March 21st 2022. The work is a true Tribute to the band for their entire oeuvre, but you can only end up with a few pieces of music in such a medley.
In this medley for concert band, Rob Balfoort used 4 iconic songs of the group, namely “Land Of Confusion”, “Mama”, “Invisible Touch”, and “Tonight, Tonight, Tonight”. It was quite a job for him not only to determine the order, the parts to be used and the length, but also for the arranger and the editor to discuss the arrangement in order not to deprive the legendary trio. As a result, this medley ended up minutes longer than previously conceived and while arranging, Rob also found out that Phil Collins and his fellow writers Tony Banks (keyboards) and Mike Rutherford (guitar) didn't really think that a band arrangement would ever be made of their music either. The vocal-, guitar- and bass parts are optional; the use of bass guitar is desirable.
Tip for conductor and drummer: give the percussionist the freedom to use his own interpretation based on studio- but especially live performances while performing this great music.
