Anton Burger

At the age of 15, Anton won the first prize as a drummer at the Laren's Jazz Festival, with the group 'Jazzeker' (‘Jazz of course’). Four years later, he founded his first big band, for which he also wrote the music. In the early eighties, he played with George Kaatee's "New Orleans Syncopators". From 2001 to 2006, he toured all over Europe with the "Glenn Miller Orchestra" conducted by Wil Salden, for which he also arranged the music. In the meantime, we found him as a free-lance musician in various orchestras. From the Radio Philharmonic to the Circus Orchestra of Theatre Carré. He was also conductor and arranger of the musical 'Larry', and co-arranger of the Van den Ende production 'Joe'. His big band, the 'Big Burger Special', recorded a live CD in 2003 with compositions by him. From 2014 to 2021, Anton was a member of the Dutch Swing College Band as a drummer. To also have a hobby outside of music, he played trombone in his spare time. Anton passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 25, 2023.

Here is a list with works of Anton that have been published by Tierolff.
