Andrea Bocelli (b. 1958, Lajatico, Tuscany) is an Italian tenor who sings both classical and popular music, including opera, and serves as a producer. Bocelli suffered from eye disease glaucoma from birth. He could see a little with his right eye until an accident with a soccer ball at age 12, at which point he became completely blind. The 1999 song “Canto Della Terra” was written by Francesco Sartori and Lucio Quarantotto and is on the album Sogno. Later it was released in a duet form with Sarah Brightman. Rob Balfoort has adapted it for wind band with optional solo vocals (included) and choir (sold separatly).
