Within 1 business dayDejmbe Spirit is an infectious musical work in which (as the title suggests) the djembé plays the leading role. The djembé is a beaker-shaped drum from Guinea (West Africa) and is played standing or sitting down. He is struck with the hands. The djembé sounds loud and penetrating and is portable. This makes the instrument popular with rock, pop and traditional musicians. In this piece the djembé is both soloist and accompanist (percussionist). The djembé opens with a short, concise rhythmic motif, which often appears in the piece. This motif is actually a short announcement, connecting the different musical sections.
