He is one of the very few existing throwing drum majors that we have in our country; he has won several throwing competitions. He resides most of the time in Spain and returns to the Netherlands especially for these marching performances. Ivo Kouwenhoven wrote this piece especially for him. El Tambor Mayor is Spanish for drum major.
