Florian Moitzi
Florian Moitzi was born on September 11, 1979 in Linz. His musical career began with the instruments flute, clarinet and piano and eventually became the saxophone. Besides his work as a teacher in primary and special education, he studied jazz saxophone with Harry Sokal, Gerald Preinfalk and Florian Bramböck at the "Anton Bruckner Private University". His first experience in composing was gained in various workshops and his major studies with Christoph Cech. Through his position as young band leader and deputy conductor of the "Marktmusik Scharnstein Redtenbacher" he came to composing for band. Florian Moitzi is active in various jazz formations as a solo saxophonist and regularly receives composition commissions for big band, choir, band and smaller ensembles.
