Hybrid Dreams is a short suite in which different and somehow unrelated musical ideas are put together to describe a kind of continuous “mood change” like one can experience in a dream. Here the dreamer experiences a strange mixture of moods, such as happiness, rage, and sadness. The work also presents a mixture of musical styles: from a Renaissance-like opening (alla Monteverdi) to the Gypsy-like countermelody, to a more classical style, and then continuing to a soundtrack-like slow section, and finally finishing in a middle eastern atmosphere…
