Lauras Stern and the mysterious dragon Nian. Laura and her family must travel to China, where her mother will be playing at a concert. Of course, her boyfriend "the star" is also along for the trip. During the flight, however, the star gets lost.... Then it turns out that the Chinese girl Ling-Ling has found the star and taken it with her. Laura and the star are reunited at the opera, where Ling-Ling's aunt plays music with Laura's mother. There, however, something strange happens: the star bumps into a dragon costume and it is brought to life...
