Leen Robbemont
Leen Robbemont was born on August 13, 1952 in 's-Gravendeel, the Netherlands. His musical career started on the Hammond organ. In 1970 he chose to switch to the piano and in 1971 he successfully passed the entrance exam at the Rotterdam Conservatory. 7 years later he graduated successfully with the endorsement 'teaching act and solo playing'. He won a prize for the best final exam among the pianists. In that same year (1979) he joined the Dutch Marine Band where he would play as pianist & percussionist for 20 years. As a soloist he played the Parade Concerto by Serge Lancen. During the farewell tour of Captain Bep Warnas of the Band of the Air Force in the Netherlands, Leen also performed the same piece as a guest soloist. The final concert of that tour has also been released on CD.
He made several arrangements for the Dutch Marine Band including Solfeggietto (for solo piano and band), which has been published by Tierolff. After that period his attention went more and more to the now established company LAR Music (audio productions for choirs and wind bands). Since 1998, Leen has been actively connected to Tierolff, for which he made almost all recordings and (CD) productions in the field of new releases for band: recording, editing, mixing and mastering. In the early 2020s (when the corona pandemic broke out), he started adapting his compositions, which he had previously made, for band.
Here is a list with works of Leen that have been published by Tierolff.
