Within 1 business dayLeichtes Blut (Light of Heart), op. 319 is a polka composed by Johann Strauss Jr. It was written for concerts in Paris that were performed in the summer of 1867. It was premiered, however, at a benefit concert in March 1867 at the Vienna Volksgarten. The polka immediately became a success in Vienna, Paris, and later worldwide. It was also performed at the first Vienna New Year’s Concert in 1939, which only contained the music of Strauss. Leichtes Blut is still a popular title, often performed on January 1.
