Ivo Kouwenhoven composed this work on behalf of "Groningen Brass Experience." The most famous tourist attraction in Groningen is the "Martini Tower," the tower that belongs to the Martini Church and is almost 100 meters high. Much can be found about the Martini Tower and its rich history on the Internet.
The work contains three movements, each one showcasing a unique building of the city of Groningen, each in a different musical genre. The parts are: "Majestic Martini Tower," "Groovin' Gasunie" and "Funky Forum." Together, the 3 contrasting movements make a great suite for young band!
