Music by John Miles was released in 1976 on his album Rebel. The song is still performed by Miles at the popular concert series "Night of the Proms". The piece is characterized by alternations of long solemn parts and fast rock sections. Randy Beck wrote this playable arrangement for concert band, which sounds perfect with a band of 20-25 musicians. This piece is now available in a new engraving and with a full score.
John Miles died on Dec. 5, 2021, after a short illness due to cancer in his hometown of Newcastle.
