"Vita Pro Musica" is an inspired classically shaped overture for wind band. A typical introduction is followed by the traditional sequence fast – slow – fast. The first part is rhythmically characterized by time changes that break the up-tempo melody. The lyrical part in the middle offers a soloist quartet (two flugelhorns, baritone and tuba) the possibility to develop rich timbres. The closing part of the piece is a rousing tarantella that highlights the entire broad sound spectrum of the wind band. "Vita Pro Musica" – a life for music – depicts both the hard work of a conductor as well as the wonderful moments he experiences in his activities.
