Within 1 business dayThe first performance of this operetta took place in Vienna in 1896. The first version of the overture didn’t include the Allegro moderato (also knows as hunting gallop) that was added to later prints. The overture of this arrangement does include this hard to find part, that is not always played at performances nowadays. This new Fritz Neuböck arrangement is very closely connected to the original version, so an excellent woodwind section is necessary. Percussion parts have also been kept original, so with only timpani, snare drum and bells part included, the percussion section is deliberately instrumented rather thin.
