The Wiener Bonbons waltz closely follows the original score by Johann Strauß Sohn and is made playable by Fritz Neuböck for bands with a playing difficulty level of a maximum of grade 3. This was achieved by making the piece shorter (only a three part waltz sequence and a shortened coda), and keeping the original keys, that are nevertheless "wind-playersfriendly". "Wiener Bonbons" had its first night on January 28th 1866 during an industrials’ association ball at the Viennese redoubt ballroom.
