Within 1 business daySometimes things work out in ways you couldn't have seen coming. A little over three years ago, my publisher, Koen Vergouwen, asked me to write a flash mob for band. Right on the day the recording was to take place in Austria, it had to be cancelled due to the total lockdown caused by the escalating Corona pandemic. Now, three years later, after three years of stagnation, "Big Boss' Flashmob" is finally released, which can be seen as symptomatic of our cultural life, and therefore of band music. Slowly, little by little, our cultural life is returning, our concerts and performances are catching on with the people, like a "comeback".
This "comeback" can be presented beautifully with this piece. Starting with the percussion register, the musicians enter the stage one by one. One register after another joins the music, bringing the piece to a joyful and hopeful conclusion. We are back! The comeback is successful!
The piece can optionally be performed with a choir. Choir parts are offered per set of at least 10 parts.
This composition was created with the help of a contribution from the Music Investment Fund, an initiative of Buma/Stemra in cooperation with Voi©e, the Copyright Interests Federation and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in the Netherlands.
