The two versions, a clarinet trio and a woodwind trio, were published by Brain Co., Ltd. in 2018 and 2020, respectively. This saxophone quartet was commissioned by Hokusei Junior High School in Hakusan City, Ishikawa in 2020.
The work is divided into three chapters, incorporating modern techniques and Arabic scales. At the outset, the tension-filled melodies of each solo build anticipation for the development of the piece.
In the middle section, I aimed to capture the moment when the musical direction becomes distinct, and in the latter part, I infused my emotions into both the sounds and the footplay. The folkloric dances and timbre of three different instruments interweave and become a large swell, which will capture the hearts of the audience.
For this publication, I reviewed the orchestration while paying attention to fingerings, and made some revisions.
