Buseto Palizzolo is located in a beautiful valley, which, from Mount Sparagio and through a hilly landscape, descends to the sea. In this beautiful strip of land that was already inhabited in prehistoric times, different cultures have succeeded, including Hellenistic, Roman, and Arabic cultures. The composition is inspired by this mixture of cultures. A slow and suggestive introduction, built on a scale reminiscent of those of ancient Greece, serves as a prelude to an Allegro movement whose melody springs from the thematic fragments of the introduction and develops on irregular meters characteristic of Arabic and Eastern music. The same thematic material is developed in the next movement (Largo) in which an expressive theme, underlined by sweet harmonies, represents the landscapes and the panoramas that run through the valley and reach the sea and can be admired from the top of the splendid Scorace forest. An exciting coda summarizes the themes leading to a rhythmic finale full of instrumental effects.
