As a college freshman I received a commission from the Chiba Wind Orchestra for a work commemorating their 10th anniversary. They requested "a piece that even those who don't usually listen to music can enjoy" and "a piece that middle and high school students can easily tackle." Therefore, I created a piece with a friendly and festive sound. At that time, I was very fond of the continuous use of major triads and descending bass lines, so I named the piece to reflect the fun I had playing with those elements. "Dimelentas" is a coined word derived from "Divertimento" (a light, entertaining piece). This piece is strongly influenced by music played in my junior high school years and is like a "memory album" for me. I hope that those with similar experiences can relate to it.

The piece can be performed with a minimum of about 35 players (intermediate level), although it is usually performed with 50 players.
