Il Serait Parfois Si Doux D'Aimer

Jointly commissioned in 2021 by the Kawaguchi City Ensemble Liberté Wind Orchestra and Mr. Kazuma Ominano, percussionist in the group. Following the previous commission, "The way can still be beautiful," the request was for the theme of "love." Similar to the previous work, I took as my subject the mother-child image "Loving is Sweet Indeed" from Georges Rouault's print collection "Miserere." In other words, while love is the theme, it is the love between parent and child that is the focus, and because it is "sometimes," various emotional landscapes are revealed, such as cheerful everyday life, being enveloped in love, losing sight of love, and rediscovering love. One of the great attractions of music is its powerful appeal to emotions. I hope you can fully enjoy the emotional fluctuations in this piece, and that such intensity will call to mind important memories for the listeners.
