Following the two compositions "Nami no Ho" and "Souten no Shizuku", both inspired by the impressions of winter and spring respectively, this is the third commissioned work from Yamaha Symphonic Band.
This time, I composed with summer in mind, particularly the season when the sunlight shines brightly, the greenery stands out, and the refreshing breeze feels pleasant-from May up until around the time of Yamaha's main annual concert.
However, it is only the final movement of this four-movement piece that depicts such "summer." The preceding three movements, rather than portraying the actual transition of the seasons, are meant to represent the emotional journey leading up to this joyful season. They express the flow of emotions, sometimes of lament, sorrow, or longing, and the determination to move towards that season.
