Since this piece was commissioned for a saxophone octet, I composed it with the image of a double quartet. The score is written in the style of a double quartet rather than in order of pitch. For stage positioning, please arrange the two baritone saxophones symmetrically in the center. The title "Mirage" was chosen to reflect the concept of a real and a virtual image engaging in dialogue, with the theme expanding as it is projected onto the two confronting quartets.
