Over The Crescent Moon [Full Instrumentation]

Composed in 2013 commemorating the 30th anniversary of "La Concert Nocturne" (Uozu City, Toyama, Japan). The song is in 6/8 and C minor, and positive rather than melancholic. Because the group's name means night musicians, I selected a lunar image. After the fanfare, the work proceeds in minor mode, but after a very dissonant bridge, settles into C major. When the mid-section's warm chorale style concludes, it returns to the motif of the first half, and then the motif and the melody of the middle part progress together towards a grand conclusion.
