Sous 1 jour ouvrableThis is the flexible instrumentation arrangement of the original work (2000) for small bands.
I feel fortunate to have more opportunities to compose music relating to spring, such as "SAKURA Song" and "Poem of Spring". This introduction is in the familiar triple meter renaissance dance style. I have also included simple yet constantly evolving melody and rhythm, to portray the time passage of spring. Therefore, the work's musicality does not depict a still portrait, but rather a dynamic, flowing scene.
The 3/4 meter at the beginning and 6/8 meter in the middle are two important anchors for the dance style. The character of each meter will help you determine expressiveness in both the melody and the accompaniment. Especially with scoring that is minus percussion, rhythmical elements are essential.
Possible instrumentation groups include woodwind sextet, brass sextet, clarinet/saxophone sextet, or mixed ensemble. The smaller notes are optional by player's choice. Focus on expressing the artistry and musicality of every rhythm and harmony for the most attractive result.
