Composed in 2021, RAKUICHI-RAKUZA No.2 was commissioned by six brass players of NP Wind Ensemble for ensemble contest.
The NP Wind Ensemble had previously programmed my "Raku Ichirakuza - Sakura no Sho" (No. 1), and because of our friendship, they asked me to create a piece in series. Although I have not set a specific story for either piece, play and express it differently from other work.
In the distant past, what kind of people lived in this place where I am standing, and what kind of life did they lead? We can imagine from picture scrolls and artifacts that perhaps it was a freer and more enjoyable world. As composer, I would be happy if you could feel a page of that Japanese history and a particular story in this piece and express it as much as you wish in the world of the work.
