"Saihou" ("reuniting") means a lot to all of us in 2020 because of the global pandemic. It made band activities impossible and caused students to miss out on important events and memorable experiences.
During the pandemic, director Mr. Koji Yamada requested a commission hoping to leave something memorable and special for his students for those particular years.
The song title was created hoping for the time to be reunited to make music, to celebrate the club's great musical bond.
Four main parts include an unsettling overture, a grand, bright fanfare, main theme and variations to the fanfare. The main theme is ABA, fast-slow-fast. It begins with an unsettled overture depicting people's state of mind, followed by a scene where everyone sings a single melody at [P] & [S]. Especially at [S], joyously sing the repetitive main theme from the beginning.
If you wish for a more grandiose opening, you may start with the fanfare at [C] or [D]. You may also use the fanfare for ceremonies or special occasions as well. ([D] to beginning of [H]) or ([U] to the end).
