The first piece commissioned by the orchestra was in three time signatures, the second in five time signatures, and the third piece, as expected, is in seven time signatures. Thus the title.
This was the first time I composed a piece in seven time signatures, and although I was at the mercy of the indivisible time, it was a surprisingly enjoyable adventure, including the hardships involved. I hope this enjoyment will be conveyed to the performers and, by extension, to the audience.
