DESCRIPTION

Commissioned by Kasukabe Kyoei High School Wind Orchestra (Saitama, Japan) in 2010. The composition consists of 5 scenes. Developing the "bell" motif in the beginning, the woodwind melody, and the melody of an ascending semitone establishes this work. It was not intended to be program music, rather an instrumental piece. Though, the composition was titled "Bells for Prayer" because the timbre and melody of the bell effect should have profound meaning and resonance.
