Wind Story - Flexible Ensemble/Band

Written with flexible instrumentation in mind. This is part of the "Wind" series; the first composition was Wind Rhapsody (Brain/Bravo Music). Imagine a breeze whispering to you as it passes by. Flexible ensembles produce unique and characteristic sounds. This led me to think of somewhat vague titles so the ensemble can freely imagine, interpret and create something new each time.
I. A Park Breeze Imagine what kind of park it is, what kind of people are there, and what they are doing.
II. The Wind's Path Imagine what windbrings across our paths.
III. Dancing Wind Imagine as the wind dances, leaves gather to celebrate together.
IV. Whispering Wind Imagine wind whispering to you and warming your heart, foreshadowing a brighter tomorrow.
This piece is playable by only six members. Each part has assigned instruments, but you may try others. Freely use the flexible instrumentation concept. For example, instead of Bb Trumpet, perhaps Soprano Saxophone. Use English Horn instead of Horn in F. For percussion, different sounds are created by those instruments you select. Flexible ensembles have many opportunities for creating new characteristic sounds. Not only it is helpful for smaller-sized bands, but players may also create many different combinations for artistic expression.
