Commissioned for "the 1st Yumi Terada Marimba & Percussion Recital". In this project young composers write new percussion ensemble works to help develop programs for general enthusiasts such as junior and senior high school students as requested by Ms. Terada.
"Bacchanale" refers to an enthusiastic festival dedicated to the Greek god Dionysus. The performance goal is to express contrast between scenes of rising emotions, desires and mysterious melodies. The score is written for 5 players, but it can be performed by more than 5 including keyboard and auxiliary percussion.
