Commissioned in 2016 by renowned percussionist Terada Yumi. "Wild", "Burning Blood (Passion)", "Red", "Ritualistic", and "Primitive" are words I imagined for this work.
To bring out the natural character and expression of percussion, detailed attention was given to the orchestration. The music progresses to emphasize the power of percussion. The work is comprised of 3 parts: Exposition of Power, Silence and Tension, and Liberation.
Recorded and premiered by Nobuyuki Hatanaka, Yumi Terada, Yoshihiro Tsuchiya, Misa Makino, and Msayuki Hiro. A special thanks goes to Ms. Terada for her insight on the composition and to the performing members for their demonstration of the work. This composition is a result of the collaboration of these great musicians. (Daisuke Ehara)
