Within 1 business dayGrieg’s house was named ‘Troldhaugen’. The original title of the music was ‘The Guests Arrive’ but got turned into ‘Wedding Day At Troldhaugen’ as a reminder of the silver wedding anniversary of the Grieg couple. This three part piece has a festive and joyous beginning with the arrival of the guests. The party continues exuberantly. On one hand the middle part represents the fatigue of the guests, on the other hand it is one of Grieg’s famous scenic compositions. Then the guests continue the cheerful party and a short coda symbolises their exit.
