Solo for horn and concert band. The first part of the piece consists of many ‘Minimalist Music’ stylistic elements, and demonstrates the virtuoso solo possibilities of the horn, while the following Andante enables the soloist to show his/her lyrical capabilities. By swinging measure changes and tonalities of the late-Romantic period, the artist will seduce the listeners and even impel daydreaming. The following Presto will first present all previous displayed themes individually, concluded by a magnificent closing furioso in the entire tutti orchestra. Main instrumentation consideration of Fritz Neuböck was to put all possible instrumental sections opposed to the horn soloist. Thus woodwind section, brass section, percussion section and a big band alternately accompany the soloist, always spiced with harp, piano and double bass.
